P aris (AP) - The  EU  and Japan are already warning of "considerable turbulence on the world market" if the US imposes import tariffs on cars.  This is clear from a joint statement following a meeting of EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström with Japanese Trade Minister Hiroshige Seko in Paris.  Last week it became known that the US government is investigating the imposition of import duties on cars.  US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that EU imports of steel and aluminum from the EU will be punitive.

In the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, a storm has caused numerous flooded roads.   Several places were hardly accessible. A heavy storm raged in the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate and set streets and cellars under water.  "The situation is dramatic," said a police spokeswoman in Saarbrücken.  Especially the places St. Ingbert, Kleinblittersdorf, Blieskastel and a district of Saarbrücken were flooded.  Also in Rhineland-Palatinate some regions were flooded.  In the districts Birkenfeld and Saarburg as well as in the area Ludwigshafen there were according to police flooded streets and full-blown cellars.
