Rapper Chief Keef was reportedly shot at outside the W Hotel in New York's Times Square early Saturday morning (June 2). Thankfully, the alleged shooters missed and Keef was unharmed.
"Chief Keef, who was in New York for an event, along with his team and the other members of Glory Boyz Entertainment (GBE) that were traveling with him are safe," Keef's representative Portia Stamps tells Billboard.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Chief Keef was shot at around 6 a.m. Saturday, but the bullets hit hotel signage. It's unclear how many shots were fired; police reportedly say two shell casings were discovered at the scene. Authorities are searching for two black males who fled the scene.
"Despite today's recent events Keef's main focus is continuing to release quality music and finishing up his upcoming projects which include Mansion Musick, which is set to be released in July through RBC Records and Glory Boyz Entertainment Records, along with a few surprise projects for his fans that will be released throughout the year," Stamps wrote in a statement.
