Introduction and Camera
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is a flagship offering from the China-based smartphone vendor. One of the unique points of the smartphone is that it has a transparent back panel which is a first in the smartphone market. Also, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature the under-display fingerprint scanner. Along with the fingerprint scanner, you also get the facial unlock feature. 
For image lovers, the handset houses dual 12+12-megapixel sensors and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. The primary sensors come with 4-axis OIS and dual pixel phase detection autofocus support that adds stability to low-light shots. Moreover, to aid imaging in the dark, there is an LED flash. The frontal 20-megapixel imaging unit promises in-depth selfies beside assisting video calls.
Performance and Storage
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is designed to deliver super-smooth performance even at its peak courtesy an octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset and massive 8GB of RAM. Navigating among multiple apps simultaneously or playing graphics-intensive gaming should never be a concern. 
For storage, the device is bundled with an onboard storage space of 128GB which is non-expandable.
Display and Battery
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition flaunts a 6.21-inch Full HD+ display that promises an excellent visual treat to its users. Wide viewing angles and the DCI-P3 supported screen offer better legibility even under bright sunlight. Also, the screen is protected from any wear and tear by Corning's Gorilla Glass. 
For power, the device sips juice from a non-removable Li-Po 3,000mAh battery which has support for fast charging via Quick Charge 4.0+.
Platform and Connectivity
On the software front, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition boots MIUI 10 baked on top of the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. 
In terms of connectivity, you get 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, dual SIM support, Infrared port, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and a USB Type-C port.
