UCLA Softball: Bruins Face Florida Gators Tonight in Women’s College World Series

The Bruins advanced to tonight’s game against Florida by riding the bat of Kylee Perez who hit a dramatic 3-run home run last night against Florida State for her 300th career hit.

It took the Bruins until the bottom of the sixth inning to really get their bats going last night. Hopefully, they don’t wait quite as long tonight as Florida.
UCLA should enter tonight’s game with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder because Florida was given the #2 national seed instead of the Bruins. So, tonight, the Bruins should be looking to prove the selection committee got the seedings wrong.
The Gators got to the Women’s College World Series by defeating 15th-seeded Texas A&M last weekend. The Gators took game one of that series 5-4, but the Aggies bounced back and took game two by the same score. That forced a game three on Saturday and the Gators won that one 5-3 to advance.
Yesterday, Florida beat SEC rival Georgia 11-3 in a 5-inning mercy rule shortened game to advance to tonight’s game against the Bruins.
The Gators offense is led by junior outfielder Amanda Lorenz. Lorenz, who went to Moorpark HS in Ventura County, is one of Florida’s top offensive weapons. She has a .428 batting average and leads the team with 74 hits and 61 RBIs. Meanwhile, the Gators’ top home run hitter is senior infielder Nicole DeWitt, who grew up in Garden Grove in Orange County.
Yesterday, the Gators’ coach Tim Walton sent Aleshia Ocasia to the circle against Georgia. While that could certainly happen again tonight, I’m expecting him to start their ace Kelly Barnhill against UCLA since I think Walton was resting Barnhill in anticipation of a matchup against the Bruins in tonight’s game.
Barnhill is 29-1 with a 1.06 ERA and opponents are batting just .117 against her. She has struck out 310 in 20513 innings.
If Barnhill has a chink in her armor, it has to be the long ball. She has given up 18 home runs on the season and had four multi-home run games and we all know how much these Bruins dig the long ball. So, I guess the big question is: Which Bruins will homer tonight?

This is your Women’s College World Series game thread.

Go Bruins!!! Bring home 117!!!

Ida Lundgren and Bianca Van Damme Could Easily Kick Your Butt!

If there were ever two fathers whose daughters would be genetically programmed to kick butt, those would be Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren – two of the most badass actors-slash-martial-artists of our time. They have both taught their little daughters how to defend themselves and look fantastic while doing it. Let’s look at Dolph and Ida first Just like Dolph’s character in Rocky IV, Ivan Drago, his 21-year-old daughter Ida was asked to show off her amazing skills on the boxing ring as well. And, boy, did she deliver! In this photoshoot for Muscle&Fitness, Dolph is probably showing Ida some secret moves and teaches her about the weak spots and how important the footwork is. Maybe he even told her how to beat Sylvester Stallone. Or maybe I’m imagining thing. These days Ida is an aspiring young model, but she’s got a long way to go to be as popular as her dad. She may look like a frail girl most of the time, but don’t let her cute looks fool you! Ida can and

Nicki Minaj “Chun-Li” SnapChat Filter An Instant Viral Hit

Nicki Minaj creates a new “Chun-Li” Snapchat filter and it instantly became a viral hit. Everyone is bumping Nicki Minaj new hit “Chun-Li” these days and it’s not just her female fans, so it makes sense she continues to milk it before her album arrives. Been a while since Nicki actually had a solo top ten record. Sources close to the Trinidadian rapper told Urban Islandz this weekend that Nicki Minaj and her team created the SnapChat “Chun-Li” filter to help push the single. The song has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and is on it’s way to platinum certification after seeing an uptick in streaming. So perhaps the new marketing push is working. Nicki Minaj has been really busy on the scene since returning from her social media hiatus for the first three months of the year. She landed a gue
